Christopher M. Barton is currently Sr. VP - Business Development, Oil & Gas for KBR, Inc. based in Houston, where he has worldwide responsibility for business development and sales for KBR’s upstream business unit.
Chris has over 32 years experience in the upstream oil and gas industry and has also held senior roles with McDermott, FloaTEC, Technip, PennWell and ABB. Since commencing his career as a Field Engineer with McDermott in Singapore in 1980, Chris has worked in a wide range of roles encompassing Operations, Engineering, Fabrication, Projects and Business Development in the Americas, Asia Pacific and Middle East.
Areas of expertise include executive management, marketing and sales, business development, project engineering and management, construction site supervision, offshore operations, and field development work. Experience covers all aspects of the upstream industry, including business-to-business publishing, and developing and managing industry events.
Nordine BENBERNOU, born 1957, is VP Business Development for National Oilwell Varco (NOV) Turret & Mooring (APL Brand), based in Arendal, Norway.
NOV is a Houston based organization with a strong position in drilling equipment and it has now the ambition to achieve a similar position in the offshore production market. The BW Offshore (BWO) APL Division has been acquired by NOV in October 2010 and it is viewed as a spearhead into the offshore production market. The Group is established worldwide, listed on the New York stock exchange, achieves a 15 B$ turnover and employs 35 000 people. The NOV Turret & Mooring turnover was in the 200 M$ range in 2011. The same position was held under BWO leadership, i.e: since 2007. In short, Nordine has been with APL for the last 15 years. Prior to joining APL in 1997, Nordine has spent 15 years in Business Development with COFLEXIP from Paris first, then from Singapore and Houston. Nordine holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Ecole Des Mines de Nancy (France).
David Cobb has over 10 years of experience in the industry and has worked for InterMoor for 13 years on the design and installation of mooring systems and foundations.
Mr. Cobb began as a geotechnical engineer before earning a Master’s Degree in Ocean engineering from Texas A&M University in 1999 and has been with InterMoor the last 13 years in the capacity of structural and mooring Engineer, Project Manager, Business Development Lead, Projects Manager and VP of Business Development since July 2010.
He has served as the Project Manager for multiple permanent mooring projects, preset mooring campaigns and extended well test mooring system programs and spent 3 years in InterMoor’s Aberdeen office from 2006 through 2009.
Bruce Crager is Managing Director of Endeavor Management, a management consulting group based in Houston, where he leads the firm’s Offshore, Subsea and Marine Group. His previous positions include VP-Subsea at J. Ray McDermott, President and CEO at INTEC Engineering, a consultant to Petrobras America for their deepwater Gulf of Mexico Cascade/ Chinook project, President of ABB Offshore Systems, and was Sr. VP of Oceaneering for 13 years with responsibility for Mobile Offshore Production Systems and Subsea Products.Prior to this, Bruce was Operations Manager for Hughes Offshore/Vetco and a design engineer at Seaflo Systems and The Offshore Company.
Bruce has over 37 years experience in the offshore oil and gas industry. His expertise includes floating production systems, subsea systems and offshore field development. He has a BS in Ocean Engineering from Texas A&M University and was selected as a Distinguished Graduate of TAMU’s Zachary Department of Civil Engineering in 2008.Bruce also has an MBA from the University of Houston, has co-authored 4 patents and has written numerous technical and management articles.
Boyd HOWELL has over twenty five (25) years of international experience in the offshore petroleum industry in various engineering positions involving a variety of platforms, ship-shaped FPSOs, FSOs, semi-submersible FPSs, steel jackets and topsides, and concrete gravity based structures.
Boyd holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Memorial University in Newfoundland, Canada. Boyd has been with MODEC for seventeen (17) years, based in Houston, Texas, and is presently the Director of Sales with responsibility for MODEC's Sales and Marketing activities for Canada and South America.
Christy graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Psychology. She began her career as a process engineer with Marathon Oil. Christy started her career with the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) in 2005 as a production engineer in the Technical Assessment and Operations Support Section. She recently transitioned to a new position in the Regulations and Standards branch. Christy participates in several API committees, acts as a contracting officer representative for research projects, and provides technical guidance during the review of new production technology applications.
Cobie Loper is the Vice President, Sales and Marketing North America for SBM Offshore. His accomplished track record in the Oil & Gas Industry spans 20 plus years. Cobie is responsible for sales strategy, marketing, leadership and account management for SBM Offshore's offerings including FPSO's, Semi-subs, TLP's, CALM buoys, terminals, installation services and engineering.
Prior to joining SBM Offshore he was SVP, Sales and Marketing at DeepFlex, Inc. and VP, Business Development for North America and Africa with Wellstream. His career has included positions in sales, operations, engineering, project management and executive in the SURF and facilities industries. Cobie graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering. He has served as a board member on ASME IOPF and Chair of multiple OTC sessions. He has published numerous technical papers and holds a US patent.
Mr. Lovett is a consultant with 50 years of experience in the marine and offshore industry. His experience represents a full range of Technical and Commercial disciplines relating to offshore facilities such as, MODUs, TLPs, F(P)SOs, and associated Classification activities. His experience includes design, engineering, construction, project management, offshore operations, contract negotiations, and sales.
Mr. Lovett recently retired after 20 years with SBM Offshore as Sr. Vice President - Sales at the company's Houston Offices. Over that period he was involved in various aspects of business development specific to mooring systems, F(P)SOs, and renewable energy facilities. Mr. Lovett holds a Business Degree from UCLA.
Peter Lovie’s 45 year career in the Houston upstreamoffshore world started in offshore drilling, then subsea production with thelast 17 years in FPSO related technical and commercial management roles. He was in the Project Management Office withDevon Energy Corporation, one of the largest of the US independent oil and gascompanies (NYSE: DVN) and 50:50 partners with Petrobras on the Cascade development, where the first FPSO and shuttle tankers entered service in the USGoM in 2012. Peter Lovie dealtwith the planning, economics, risks and contracting for floating systems inDevon’s portfolio of operated and non operated deepwater field developments, including recommending the choice of export systems. He was in the loop for setting standards and the2007 negotiations of contracts for the first FPSO and shuttle tankers in the USGoM. When Devon exited offshore entirely in 2H2009, Peter became aconsultant and currently divides his time between his consulting practice and aproject development venture for West Africa.
Prior to Devon he was VP with a shuttle tanker operator (American Shuttle Tankers LLC, now part of Teekay) and before that was with an FPSO contractor (Bluewater) in the US for seven years, active in the industry team securing the 2001 regulatory approval of FPSOs for use in the US Gulf of Mexico.
Peter Lovie is a Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas, a Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (FRINA). He earned his Master of Applied Mechanics degree from the University of Virginia where he was a Fulbright Scholar.
Over 22 years of marketing and management experience in engineering and manufacturing settings working for some of the largest multinational companies in the oil and gas industry.
Born in Italy, after High School classical studies, Roberto relocated to the US. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University, and a Master in Business Administration degree from the University of Houston.
Roberto is a Professional Engineer registered in the state of Texas and an active member of numerous professional societies. He is fluent in English, Spanish, Italian, and he is a patent recipient and published author.

Claude L. Rouxel, born 1953, is Chief Business Development Officer for BW Offshore, based in Houston.
Prior to joining BW Offshore in 2007, Claude spent 20 years as VP Sales & Marketing for Single Buoy Moorings Inc. and then worldwide head of Sales & Marketing for Tanker Pacific Offshore Terminals. Claude has been in the oil industry for 33 years including several years as drilling superintendent for ESSO.
Claude holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Ecole Centrale de Nantes (France) and an Engineering degree in Naval Architecture and Oceanography from ENSTA in Paris.
Lawnie Sturdevant has more than 38 years in the international energy industry beginning as a design engineer and progressing through project and construction management before entering into sales and marketing. Mr. Sturdevant has been with MODEC since 1996 and is currently Director of Sales focused on Clients located in the US and Mexico for projects installed in the Atlantic basin.
Mr. Sturdevant has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and an MBA in Finance from the Univeristy of Houston.
Arjan Voogt holds a MSc. degree in applied physics from Delft University of Technology and graduated in fluid dynamics. He joined MARIN in 1998 to work as project manager on offshore model tests.
Arjan is currently working as manager of MARINs satellite office in Houston. From this office MARIN provides local client support, third party verifications work and design optimization studies using in-house developed software.
Neil Williams - VP Technology Development, Wison Floating Systems.
Dr. Neil Williams has been active in the development of technology for the offshore market for over 25 years with a career spanning both academia and industry. During this time he has become a leader in the global performance analysis of floating production systems, as well as computational dynamics and hydrodynamics, especially nonlinear wave-structure interactions. His previous work experience includes positions with a leading EPCI contractor and as a professor for the University of Houston. He has published over 100 articles in technical journals and conference proceedings. He holds a Ph.D. and B.S. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Reading and a M.S. in Offshore Structures from Cranfield University in the United Kingdom.
Over 30 years experience in the engineering and construction of projects worldwide, including drilling, production and Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) facilities on fixed platforms, MODU’s and vessels.
Currently VP Project Management and Engineering for Water Standard, turnkey supplier and operator of vessel and MODU based EOR facilities.Past positions held include VP Marketing of FPSOs, Proposal Dept Manager, and Engineering Project Manager for a major floating production contractor.
